About KEKS

KEKS was founded five years ago by Donald, a film photographer who set out to solve a common problem for vintage camera collectors: built-in light meters that had become unreliable with age, often impossible to repair. Working with Bob, an engineer and fellow film shooter, Donald developed the company's first product — a hotshoe light meter — and KEKS began.

Since then, KEKS has grown into one of the more established names in light metering for film photography, with products stocked in specialty camera shops around the world and used by photographers across a wide range of camera systems.

Our products are used by photographers well recognized within the film community, many of whom have come to rely on KEKS as part of their regular kit. The KEKS lineup includes light meters, a flash unit, and camera accessories, built primarily from aluminium and brass and designed to complement the vintage cameras they're used with.

Each product is developed over several months of testing and refinement. We stand behind that process with a minimum 12-month warranty on everything we make.

Every member of the KEKS team is also an active film photographer — a background that continues to shape the direction of everything we build.

KEKS is not limited to light meters. The company continues to develop new products across film photography, with further additions to the lineup planned in the coming years.
